直島・本村地区で展開しているRing of Fireーヤンの太陽＆ウィーラセタクンの月の【Solar（昼）】のアーティストであるヤン・ヘギュのオリジナル商品です。
ピアスは作品中のランタンをモチーフにしており、デザインはランタンの上部に飾られている花の部分から発想されています。実際の作品のランタンには和紙と韓紙（ハンジ）で作った花が飾られており、すべて一つひとつ手作りで制作されています。
商品の素材には、水にも強い特殊和紙を使用しており、和紙の柄も今回特別に制作したオリジナルとなっております。デザインおよび制作はニューヨークを拠点に活動しているミリナリーのAYUKO HISHIKAWAが、一点一点ハンドメイドで仕上げています。

DescriptionOriginal accessories created for Ring of Fire – Solar Yang & Lunar Weerasethakul, Solar (Day). These pieces are inspired by Haegue Yang’s lantern sculpture, 'Mesmerizing Votive Pagoda Lantern - Snow Volcano Ultramundane Flowers'. In the original artwork, the upper part of the lantern is beautifully decorated with handcrafted flowers made from traditional Japanese washi paper and Korean hanji paper.
Designed and individually handmade by Ayuko Hishikawa—a milliner and designer based in New York and Tokyo—these limited-edition accessories are crafted from a special, water-resistant washi paper manufactured by Onao (SIWA) in Yamanashi Prefecture. Each item features an exclusive print specially designed by the artist for this collection.
